Mark your calendars: June 26-July 14 , Coast Collective Gallery, Wain Rd, Colwood. My kelp painting “Ocean Sway”
Is one of many exciting works in this “Ocean” exhibit. Living in East Sooke with tall cedars, beautiful ocean beaches and the west coast trail nearby, influence my every day life. I feel connected to the sighing of whales, the smell of salt and iodine near the kelp beds. These undersea forests soak up nitrogen and carbon, and provide critical habitat for many fish and invertebrates. Their elegant swaying motion influenced by tide and current have inspired this painting. This exhibition celebrates the marine world above, below and along the ocean’s margin. hope to see you there.
